Groningen
The National Rail Service had a special ticket sale. For €17 you get a Day ticket that you can use all day. The regular price for a round trip to Groningen is €47.60, so quite a savings. We are retired you know, all that fixed income sob story stuff. We got up early (for us) and set out for Groningen; it was a two hour ride.
As I mentioned in an earlier post there were two paintings from the Stockholm National Museum on display at the Groninger Museum in the Nordic Art Exhibition. Well we found a third painting on the list of 1001 paintings from another museum, so this was a bonus. After seeing all the paintings we had a nice lunch in the town center. We got home at about 18:30, a full day for us.
Oh by the way, big news in The Netherlands! Queen Beatrix abdicated today in favor of her son who will become King on April 30.
