RAE, JUDE AND AMY VISIT AMSTERDAM
Rae, Jude and Amy arrived last Thursday morning for a week's worth of fun and excitement. Jude has been here 4 times, so he was the perfect tour guide for the ladies. We are cat sitting for our friends, so we stayed at their place giving the youngsters our apartment all to themselves.
They did alot of the touristy things one must do in Amsterdam. Bike Tour. Red Light District. Van Gogh. Canal Cruise. Anne Frank House. Visit to the Iamsterdam for a photo op. They didn't eat raw herring, frites with mayo or get a picture in the giant shoe. All good reasons to come back.
New Year's Eve was rainly so it wasn't as festive as it could have been, but the fireworks were spectacular, and continued for a really long time. The kids went out. We stayed in with kitty.
We all did take a side trip to Brugge Belguim. It was a lovely day. Had a great lunch, and soaked in the quaintness of this picturesque city. We all bought chocolates of course and a little bit of lace. After our return back to Amsterdam we ended up at Coco's Outback Bar to watch the Bears and part of the Packer game.
The week went by quickly and we now look forward to the grandgirls coming to visit over spring break.
