More Sightseeing in Brussels

We started the day with a very nice buffet breakfast, but it was Friday so we couldn't enjoy the salami or bacon.  We had to make do with scrambled eggs, croissants, pastries and fruit.  I had several pastries.  Then it was off for more sightseeing.  We visited some local sights and then set off for what else, the Royal Museum of Fine Art.  The most unusual thing we saw along the way was the stuffed leopard in the  window of an antique store.  It was creepy and neat at the same time. 

We had visited this art museum back in October, but that was a 'slam-bam' visit to see two paintings on the 1001 list.  We took our time on this visit and saw everything on display.  After the art we went to the Parlamentarium which is the visitors' center for the European Parlament.  It is a modern museum.  You get an audio/visual guide to learn about each exhibit.  You place the guide over a data point and the guide tells you, or you read about the exhibit.  There are a lot of exhibits.  We ran out of steam about three quaters of the way through, but we did learn a bit.  We went back to the hotel to have beer (Ramee Blond).  After the rest we set off to the train station for the ride home.  The short story is that there was a fire on a train or a track in France so our  train was 2 hours late.  We chatted with a young man from India originally, but who now lives in New Jersey.  He travels a lot internationally installing high tech equipment.  He was working in Belgium and decided to go to  Amsterdam for the weekend.  We made it home around 11PM.  The trip was great, but I think I've spent more time on the photos (some problems uploading the movies) and writing the posts than we spent in Brussels.  But what else do I have to do?  Nothing.
