Wednesday Oct 30, 2019 – Amsterdam Maritime Museum
Today we went to the Maritime Museum. We went to a few of the exhibits as you’ll
see from the photos. The one exhibit
where I didn’t take photos was actually the most impactful. It was about climate change, melting ice, and
rising sea levels. There were photo
graphs of places already experiencing the effects of rising seas. The photos of Bangladesh, Indonesia, and
islands in the Pacific are places you would expect to be impacted. But there were also photos of accelerated
beach and cliff erosion in the UK, the need for higher dikes here in the
Netherlands, and beach erosion in Florida.
After that we skipped the rest of the exhibits and went out to take a
few photos of the ships.
