2026 04 01 Los Angeles

 From San Fracisco we drove two days to Los Angeles to visit more museums.  Why else would we go there?

Tue 3/31 San Rafael, CA->San Luis Obispo, CA (279 miles 6.5 hr.)

Wed 4/1 San Luis Obispo, CA->Getty Museum Los Angeles, CA (203 miles 4.1 hr.)

Total miles driven from Portland to Los Angeles = 1,218 mi.  Total driving time was 25.6 hrs.

When we got to LA (Wed 4/1) early and we went right to the Getty Museum.  It was too early to check into our hotel, and it was on the other side of LA.  The Getty has one 1001 painting, and we saw it right away.  I even retrained myself from taking too many photos.  We then drove to our hotel and checked in.  The Dodgers were playing the Cleveland Guardians (I’m still stuck on Indians) that evening, so we decided to go to the game.  We had decent seats along the right field line.  We had dinner at the field, and it came in a small Dodger helmet.  After we finished our hot dogs and fries we cleaned up the helmet and gave it to the mom of a 4 year old boy a couple of rows in front of us, and he loved it!  Cleveland’s pitching was very good, the Dodgers didn’t score their one run until the 9th inning.  To top the day off, Sue found a handful of can pop-tops in the parking lot!  We/Sue donate them to the Ronald McDonald’s House, it was a pretty good day.  Except for the price of gas, see the last photo, we actually paid over $6 a gallon at a couple of places in LA.
