2026 04 02 Los Angeles - Museums: Norton Simon & LACMA
Two museums today will mean a busy day. The photos from the two museums are both in this one album. We got to the Norton Simon early before it opened. That is why you get to see photos of all the sculptures the museum has on the grounds. This museum has one painting in the book and a “better” substitute for a ‘1001’painting that is in a private collection. “Better” means I had already counted another painting as a substitute, but I like today’s painting better. We found the first painting right away, and then we tracked down the second painting. The Norton Simon is not a big museum, but it is very nice. Then we were off to LACMA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, which does NOT have a 1001 painting. We DO actually like paintings, even if they aren’t in one of Ray’s lists. But Ray does like them better IF they are on a list.
