July 4, 2016

Another nice day in Amsterdam.  We went back to the Rijksmuseum to look/buy a scarf with the portraits of Marten and Oopjen.  These are the Rembrandt portraits that we saw at the special exhibition two days ago.  Then it was back home for lunch.  Sue got a Facebook notice that there was an exhibition of portraits of members of the House of Orange-Nassau, so of course we walked up to have a look.  The House of Orange-Nassau dates back to William of Orange (1533-1584).  The one photo is a view from the Palace.  Just outside the doors is the balcony where the king appears on special occasions.  We are back home resting up for our dinner out tonight with Jim and Nanny.
