November 6, 2018           Lisbon Saturday November 3rd

This is the third post today.

Steve and Hannah left early just before 5:00, we didn’t get up, but did hear them leave.  We were up later.  We had breakfast, straightened up the apartment and then caught the Aerobus to the airport.  The flight to Lisbon was about 2 hours, we arrived at about 13:30.  The time difference to Chicago is now 6 hours.  We were going to take a bus, but the ticket agent told us to take the Metro because of the military parade had the buses and trams to the center of the city messed up.  We arrived at the hotel around 14:30.  After checking in and unpacking we checked out the walking route to the church of St. Anthony, Google said it would take about 30 minutes to walk.  We got to the church just a little after Mass started, we sat in the back.  All during Mass people kept coming into the church taking photos and then going into the crypt where St. Anthony was born (in a crypt?), we found out about the crypt after Mass.  We of course visited it after Mass.  Then we went out to find a place to have dinner.

On our walk back to a restaurant area we had passed through we saw that the Military Parade was still going on.  I took a short video, I think it should run, but I’ll have to find out after I post it.  Lisbon is VERY hilly, so the walk back to the hotel was a slog.  Tomorrow we are getting a rent-a-car to visit four places north of Lisbon.
