Saturday June 3, 2023 Amsterdam
We took Hannah and Steve to see the Maritime Museum that is a very short walk from our place. It has many interesting installations. You can see some of them in the photos. We were there for about an hour. After that Sue and I went to the Lindengracht Market to do some shopping. Hannah and Steve were off to do the many, many things they do every day. After our trip to the market we came home to rest a bit. Then we went to Saturday Mass at De Krijtberg Kerk on the Singel Canal. It is about a 20 minute walk from our place. Jesuit church and an English mass. After church we did some grocery shopping and then we went to Café’ Staalmeesters to meet Hannah and Steve for dinner. We made reservations for four, but there was a mix-up, so we didn’t have an outside table for four. But there was a table for two so we took it. Hannah and Steve were not there yet. There were two guys next to another empty table for two. So I asked them if we they would switch tables with us if I would buy them a drink. Well they did switch tables, so we now had seats for four. Before Hannah and Steve a crowd of young German girls showed up and wanted the two chairs from out tables. We had to explain that we were expecting guests. They managed to find two benches that gave them enough seats for the nine of them. We had a great time talking with the girls and an English couple that was also sitting next to us.
