We visited two different museums today, and if you can believe it, I didn’t’ take any photos.  The Modern Art Museum was just too avant-garde for our taste.  Most of the displays were too large, or too strange.  The Decorative Arts and History was too dark.  The lights were kept low to protect the clothing and art, and that made taking photos tough, plus I wasn’t too interested.  We went back to the hotel for a rest before the whiskey tasting.

After our museum visits we went to the Teeling Whiskey Distillery for a whiskey tasting.  It started with a tour of the distillery and a description of how the whiskey is made.  Then it was time to taste the whiskey.

We got to the distillery a little early, like most everyone else.  We looked around the gift shop, and we/Sue bought two whiskey glasses.  There are many things to buy.  Eventually they collect the people who signed up for the tour.  The young guide gave us a brief history of Teeling, there are now two brothers, fairly young by 'our' standards who now run the place.  Then we were off on the tour.  You will see from the photos that the actual distillery isn't very big. We basically stayed on the one floor where I took all the photos.  I tried to get photos of all the equipment, and descriptions of what they do.  This may have taken a half-hour, and then we were off to the tasting  room.  You could select the number of whiskies to taste, 2, 3, or 4.  We choose to taste 3.  We could actually taste the difference between the three we tasted: Single Grain, Small Batch, & Single Malt.  We both liked the Single Malt the best.  The differences weren't great, but you could notice them.  After the tasting we went home to rest up for our train ride to Belfast, Northern Ireland.
