Monday Nov 18, 2019 – Amsterdam
We had a goal today.
The zipper on my Pickpocket Proof Pants broke yesterday. Sue located a tailor,
so going to the tailor is our goal. We
took a tram to the Pijp area of Amsterdam, where the tailor is located. The pants should be done by Friday. On the way home we walked through the Albert
Cupy Market. The market was not crowded
at all. We stopped at an Albert Hein
along the way to the Museumplein to pick up some coffee filters. The skating
rink in the Museumplein is up and running. After a few photos we headed home. Wednesday we are going to Delft to see an
exhibition of the work by Pieter de Hooch. I’ve mentioned that his work is very
similar to Vermeer. Vermeer was from
Delft, but the museum in Delft doesn’t have any works by Vermeer. I think there will be 30 de Hooch paintings,
plus works by other artists. You will
see photos of them all (if photos are allowed). Delft is only an hour away by
train so I’m planning on having a coffee and a couple of sugar waffles on the
train.
